Why Does Susan Tharp Speak for You?
Anyone paying attention in our community has heard Susan Tharp’s pro-illegal Hispanic rhetoric ever since she took over Learning Network of Clinton County. Perhaps the first to be affected was the prior staff of the Learning Network. Many or most of these fine people left the organization only because of her pro-Hispanic agenda. She now uses the Learning Network to promote her pro-Hispanic, pro-illegal people. She has said publicly it should not matter if someone lives here illegally. Ms. Tharp, haven’t you noticed the citizens of Frankfort, including most Hispanic leaders (who live here legally, by the way) disagree with you?
Many local people has said “Susan Tharp being openly pro-Hispanic and pro-illegal is one thing, but her practice of using our Learning Network to openly attract more illegal people to Frankfort needs to stop, and stop now.” Ms. Tharp, on the other hand, works hard using the learning network resource to attract more illegal people here – she wants to grow her empire, have more Hispanic students and hire more instructors.
So, we ask you, the residents of Frankfort: Why do you let Susan Tharp speak for you?
We ask this question because The Times has only printed positive stories about her and her pro-Hispanic Learning Network. Meanwhile, The Times has refused to print letters to the editor that disagree with Ms. Tharp on the illegal people topic. Thus, all of Ms. Tharp’s pro-Hispanic and pro-illegal rhetoric has simply stands unchallenged.
You might let Ms. Tharp speak for you if you and she have a lot in common. So, let’s examine what you might have in common with Ms. Tharp:
1. According to public records, Susan Tharp is paid $62,670 per year by Purdue University as Extension Director of the Learning Network. In addition, Ms. Tharp is paid an additional $48,894 of our county taxpayer money, authorized by our own Clinton County Commissioners. So, Ms. Tharp gets an annual salary of $111,564. If you don’t agree with this, talk with or write to our county commissioners and tell them what you think.
2. But wait, there’s more. Ms. Tharp gets a fee for writing grants on behalf of the Learning Network, and she applies for many grants. Ms. Tharp is also a paid consultant in the field of education. So, how much does Ms. Tharp earn per year – who knows? $150,000? $200,000? Maybe some of you wives out there make a similar wage, and if you do, you have something in common with Ms. Tharp, and so perhaps you should allow her to speak for you.
3. Ms. Tharp’s husband Dr. Tharp is a medical doctor, and we might only guess his income is perhaps $150,000 per year. Oh, but Dr. Tharp has a second paid job as Clinton County Health Officer. So, if you were to guess Dr. Tharp’s total annual income, perhaps you would say it’s about $180,000 and perhaps much, much more. Combined, this family may well earn $200,000 or $300,000 per year, or more. If y our family earns this much, you have something in common with the Tharp’s and so perhaps you should let them speak for you.
4. Living along side all the thousands of illegal people in Frankfort are the remaining Anglos; those who are on fixed income; those who cannot afford to move elsewhere, and those who have decided, for now, to stay. Since Ms. Tharp and Dr. Tharp are such strong pro-Hispanic activists, you might think they choose to live among their illegal people constituents within Frankfort. No, they live at Little Lakes Estates, a privately owned lakeside community about 6 miles as the crow flies from Frankfort. Quite isolated from the noise and commotion their illegal friends cause in Frankfort. You see, the community they live in is 100% all White, while the community they work hard to attract more illegal people into, Frankfort, is about 25-30% Hispanic (counting the estimated illegals, who do not answer the U.S. Census for obvious reasons).
For a view of the community Susan Tharp lives in, go to Map Quest and enter her home address: 4536 Wildwood Drive, Frankfort Indiana. It’s a quiet, privately owned lake community, It’s all White. No Hispanics, no Latinos, no Illegal People. Susan leaves Frankfort to go home, and she is not impacted by the Illegals. Two standards. Two communities, Frankfort and Little Lakes. Many people are offended at all this.
